The position is responsible for optical design aspect of product and development activities associated with Displays products and derivatives from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life.
Serves as the central resource for all aspects of the optical engineering solution.
Involvement lasts throughout all stages of the product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of design, analysis, documentation and testing of complex mechanical piece parts and assemblies.
Analyze critical areas of the design with the appropriate analysis tools.
Play key role in ensuring the final design meets the marketing requirements, quality and cost goals, and achieves world-class standard of reliability, manufacturability, EMI containment and serviceability.
Works with panel supplier or key components suppliers to conduct engineering design and tests to evaluate and verify the robustness and proper performance of new products
Manage assigned development activities of external suppliers.
Interface with suppliers, industrial design, electrical engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality and other development groups to ensure the successful development and launch of new products.
Utilize best in class tools to develop innovative solutions to highly complex problems.
Provide inputs for the optical design development of panel budget and schedule.
Play a key role in development of the preliminary BOM, cost targets, development plan.
Support other areas in their initial work on project planning documents.
Identify and mitigate potential schedule, budget or quality risks.
Escalate to project leads and project management any discrepancies well before they become critical.
Offer alternatives to realign the project with original goals.
Responsible for subset team member coordination and mentoring.
Provide inputs used to develop the product profile and ensuring their accuracy and completeness.
Key Experience / Key Skills:
10 years or more than 10 years experience in LCD display.
Proven ability for optical design of LCD display.
Ability to design LCD back light unit.
Ability to understand LCD key component such as LED, optical sheets, LGP etc.
Prefer major in physical optics.
Prefer to have SET maker experience
